smorgasboard

Haven't posted for awhile, and tons has happened.   And I don't know how to make a layout cooperate, so just randomly on here.  We built a new storage room in the corner of the garage, it will serve us well. Not to get it stocked up.  We traded the subaru for a hyandi, good mileage and paid for.  We burned our field, and I rediscovered ant beds, these are huge.  I used to love to "study" ant beds when I was a kid.  When I was in third grade, our class was earning money to buy a pair of guinea pigs (from my brother Kendall) and mom gave me the job of walking to the store for a few groceries.  On the way home, I stopped to "study" an ant bed for an extended period of time, and when I got home, I almost didn't get paid.  I had looped the grocery sack over my arm and ended up smashing the middle flat of a loaf of WONDER BREAD.  Wonder bread was a rarity at our home, it was a great loss.  Anyway, my "study" of ant hills goes way back.  If you look closely, one ant had a piece of grass three times longer than he was in his mouth, that always amazes me.

Having a nice spring and glad for some warm days after a few weeks of much needed rain.  The robins love our yard, and the worms.  Tried to get a pix of the cats, not very photogenic. Now next week we are headed to Provo to see our baby graduate from BYU!

  1. Love the pics! I think the kitties are cute - from a distance, though, not sure we want any yet... I remember your ant study stories, but not that one and we couldn't really make out the ants in the picture. We're also divided on the pile under the tree - did ants make that pile? Nice car by the way!

  2. What a nice post! I love all the pictures! I didn't know you had a soft spot for ants, of all things. The kittens have grown up, and the storage room looks great. :) love you and can't wait to see ya!

  3. I assume the ants made the pile, maybe the elk and deer and gophers help them at nite, it gets pretty crazy out here after dark. - if you can tell me how to, I will put a neon arrow on the ant with the stick in the mouth.

Can't wait to see you Val!
