La NiÑa

The Pend Orielle Sunday
Well, snow has come to us.  What a difference a week makes. It is beautiful, it can quit now.  But don't think it will.   Over 20 inches. . . on Saturday it warmed for awhile up to 30+ and the snow compacted, on Sunday on the way to Church, the river was still and clear, and everything was white or silver, Kim took a pix with his phone.  Doesn't show how very breathtaking it was, you will have to come see!  Monday was clear, but started after midnite and hasn't stopped.  I took these pix about 7 this morning.  It is 1 pm and still falling down ....down..... down...  May you all be warm, safe and enjoy the view aroud you!

Change of Season

Dad hanging the lights in good weather with green lawn that won't last

I  haven't figured out how to get the pix in the order I want, but here goes.  The pix with grandkids were taken in October, we met with Lindsay in Missoula to celebrate Weston's birthday.  Gage and Macy did a mask painting project in our hotel room, great fun.  See the little monkey, er uh, Gage,  modeling one of their creations.  Gage and Weston played so well, Weston loves to be right in the action with Macy and Gage and they are so good to him.   Then some pix of our yard today, it is so green and I am sad to see the summer end.   Most of the flowers died with the cooler weather, but my peppermint and lemon have thrived, as well as the California Poppy.   I took these while Kim and I put up the Christmas lights today, while still good weather.  A bit early, but hey!   The autumn has been breathtaking.  Totally loved the colors and the awesome beautiful world we are blessed to live in.   Hope all are enjoying your surroundings.

Pend Oreille River Labor Day Scenic Train Ride

first time using blogger to download video, so we will see. .  anyway, this was a very pleasant scenic ride, beautiful country, nice day.  ( listen to the train . . . .)  Our friend from Fairbanks was here for long weekend.the train was taken over by these "ruffians" who wanted money for the local theater group. . .
the views were awesome, we crossed over the Box Canyon Dam, that was most impressive, we were 150 feet up in the air. . . hope it downloads. . . and FINALLY some zinnias. . . I have fought the deer for these, planted from seed.and while I am at it, here is one of Kim  (MY OLYMPIAN)  right side up with the Olympic medals. . .

the sweet passengers on a treasure hunt around the property
Jon wasn't able to come for FOURTH, he is working as fuel truck driver on a K-Max Helicopter crew, we got to visit him last week in Libby, MT.

Joyful July 2010

There is a learning curve, and I am not yet around the curve, so this "entry" ends up being three entries. . . Enjoy the pix, they are just a sampling. . . ( and sorry there are two of a couple at the end. . . couldn't for the life of me make it work or spend ANY more time)
July has been a wonderful month, here are some of the highlights. Our family came for the FOURTH, great great fun!

We had a great time. . .  and as you can see, yard is big enough for all, YA ALL COME NEXT YEAR!

Then in the middle of July, Grandma went to Boise and Brooke and I flew to Las Vegas to visit Moultons while Bryce got feeling better after having surgery.  We had a great time, wish I'd have gotten one on the plane, but packed camera.  Brooke had flown before, but she couldn't remember, and so was very excited.  She is such fun, and her parents can be proud of how she respects their family values  when out of their home, even eating veggies and not sweets before meals, brushing teeth, etc.  What a sweetheart.  And Bryce recovered so well, we are thankful for prayers answered.

We love our family!
